This campsite is on the western shores of the Waikato River is perfect for swimming, picnicking, fishing and water sports.  

Directions to the Arohena Campsite are as follows:

East of Kihikihi via Arapuni Rd, turn into Rotongata Rd and into Waipapa Rd.  Then into Pukewhau Rd at Arohena, follow and turn left into Mangare Rd and right into Landing Rd, follow to the end at the river.

Large motorhomes/caravans/towed boats may struggle to negotiate tight corners.

On the Waikato River there is no formal boat ramp but a fairly benign pumice beach to land and launch
